Bar Nikos is situated in the quaint Greek village of Stavropigio, Avias, Messinia. It lies under the ruins of the ancient Zarnata castle.
My family have owned this bar for over fifty years.
Join us for coffee or frappe, we also stock a full range of beers, wines and spirits. Cigarettes and snacks.
We open everday of the year from 9am until very late......
In spring, summer and autumn we have plenty of room outside and in winter you can come and sit by the fire.
When you have finished exploring the area for the day come and join us for a beer. We are a bar for all seasons and a bar for all reasons.
We have satellite sports TV for international football and the best in good music.
We also produce our own extra virgin olive oil, try some and buy some.
Whether you are visiting Stavropigio or just passing through, stop here and take it easy.

Olive picking holidays
A holiday like no other, try for yourself the art of olive picking. After an intoduction from a local farmer Mr Sotiris Loutzis, who speaks excellent English, you will be set free to work on his trees. Sotiris and his family farm around 1000 trees in the kalianeika area. Working in the traditional manner, you will learn how to pick and prune the tree's to get the best results for the following year.

A splendid bunch of chaps who form the first and last line of defence in Avia.
They parade every Tuesday and Friday from 6 pm until late.
